A Just Because Couple’s Session – Katrina & Zak – Part 2

3.5.12 | Engagement Photos, Portraits, Families & Kids

Part 1 of Katrina & Zak’s super stylish couple’s session can be found here. Below are my favorite images from Part 2. This part of the session was a little more casual and relaxed and I loved shooting these just as much! Together, these posts just go to show that fun, stylish locations are great for photo sessions, but so are random, abandoned parking lots. :)

Zatrina and Zak- thanks so much for a fun day!

A Couple’s Session in A Vintage-style Bar! Katrina & Zak – Part 1

3.2.12 | Engagement Photos

I love when people inquire with me to set up a photo session just because. We don’t only need great photos of ourselves when we get engaged or married, we need great photos of all those in-between moments as well… those moments that make up the majority of our lives. Zak came up with the amazing idea of gifting Katrina a couple’s session this past Christmas. I had photographed two of their friends before and it was a gift he knew she’d love- something unique that she wouldn’t expect. I absolutely loved hearing the story of how he presented the gift to her and how surprised and excited she was when she found out!

Once the cat was out of the bag, we started planning the session. They frequent a bar in Culver City called Oldfields, and one night while having some drinks they thought of the idea of doing their session there. It was a unique and really awesome place, and it was a place they loved to go. The perfect location for a photo session! I didn’t quite know what to expect before I got there, but when I showed up the day of the shoot I felt like a kid in a candy store! The light, the decor, their clothes…. all a photographer’s dream! I had so much fun with them here!

Here are my favorite images from this part of the session. We did a more casual wardrobe after we shot here, which I’ll be posting in the Part 2 post soon!

How amazing is their styling? Loved.

Such a great vibe here!

Katrina is a gorgeous lady.

Such a good-looking couple!

A fav of mine.

Love.

More from Part 2 of this session will be posted soon! Happy Friday, everyone!

San Francisco Engagement Photos – Alicia & Jeremy – Part 2

2.23.12 | Engagement Photos

After shooting at Fort Point for Part 1 of Alicia & Jeremy’s engagement session, we all headed to the Sutro Baths Ruins which is an awesome outdoor location for shooting in San Francisco. Some of my favorite images from the whole session were shot here… and even though it was really cold Alicia and Jeremy were delightful and let me create such great images. I even had some time to experiment with some new ways of shooting and processed my black and whites a little bit differently to fit the mood of this location. As artists, it’s so important to try new things from time to time and this session let me do that.

Love both of these.

This is quite possibly my favorite image from the whole day!

Brian was floating around taking some photos as I was shooting and he must have caught this image right after I caught the one above. I came across it while editing and loved it! I love that he captured that expression on Alicia’s face as I was obviously checking out some settings on my own camera.

Congratulations, Alicia & Jeremy!! Thanks so much for a fun day!
