A Wedding PHOTOBOOTH at Saddlerock Ranch

October 18, 2011

Photobooths are always so much fun for guests and they always result in  great photos. Heather & Lewie’s wedding Photobooth was no exception!

One of my favorite Photobooth images of a bride, ever. :)

Had to hop in there with them myself!

Heather & Lewie with their amazing friend and fantastic coordinator Robin of Gather Events. Loved her!

I cannot wait to share the other images from this wedding!

Bel Air Bay Club Wedding: Naomi & Keith

October 11, 2011

Naomi and Keith had an amazing wedding day thanks to the fabulous coordination of Uyen of Sassy Girl Weddings.

The day began at The Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica where both Naomi and Keith got ready.

I love the details of this hotel.

Hair and makeup were done by Jennie of Kelly Zhang.

Naomi chose an AMAZING Vera Wang gown. It was so gorgeous- I loved all of the layers of detailed tulle.

Naomi was glowing. :)

Naomi went with some classic Badgley Mischka shoes. The guys had their Adidas sneakers on hand to change into after the ceremony.

Keith was looking exceptionally dapper in his gray suit and green tie- matched the decor of the hotel perfectly. :)

Some portraits of Naomi in the room before we left for the church.

The flowers for the day were designed by Commerce Flowers.

The ceremony took place at Our Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills.

Then off to the Bel Air Bay Club for some more photos and to party the night away. :)

A favorite. :)

The First Dance.

Naomi and Keith treated their guests to an amazing performance of a Lion Dance by The Immortals. It was above and beyond the coolest thing I have ever seen at a wedding reception! These costumes were amazing, the drumming was loud and the skill of these dancers had me in awe. I was so impressed with the dance that I went home to look up the meaning and symbolism behind this Chinese tradtion… This Wikipedia article offers a lot of  history behind it if you’d like to learn more.

Congratulations, Naomi & Keith!

Colony Palms Hotel Wedding – Palm Springs – Nicole & Taro

September 29, 2011

I knew I liked Nicole and Taro from the moment I met with them late last year. They are laid back, funny, creative, and just totally the kind of people with whom you know you’d like to hang out. Nicole is a fine art photographer who does really cool landscapes and portraits, so the stakes were quite high for me going into this wedding. Photographing for

another photographer always makes me feel a little nervous, but Nicole made my job so easy by choosing a great venue, working with an incredible coordinator, being super relaxed and simply letting me do my thing. It was an awesome day in the desert for a wedding, and thanks to some help from my 2nd shooter for the day Heidi, we got so many great shots that this blog post is going to be a little on the long side.

Also, Nicole & Taro chose to have a “Photobooth” at their wedding. Click the link to check out their Photobooth photos. :)

Venue: Colony Palms Hotel – Palm Springs

Coordinator: April Seuss of The Bride and I

Flowers: Artisan Events Floral & Decor

I loved the simple, classic, sexy dress by Nicole Miller. So perfect.

Heidi grabbed these photos of Taro getting ready. Love them.

The netted veil, fascinator and bold vintage-style earrings… I loved it all! Nicole, you looked so beautiful.

The First Look. Always such a sweet moment.

Taro chose to wear a navy suit as opposed to the standard black. Super dapper.

We loved exploring the grounds of the Colony Palms. So many cool nooks and crannies!

Two of my favorite images from the day. :)

I loved the idea of using album covers to label the tables.

Nicole spent hours folding paper cranes to hang from the ceremony arch. In the Japanese culture, the paper crane symbolizes good fortune and tradition says that folding one thousand paper cranes is said to bring one good fortune or a long life.

The ceremony was officiated by their good friend and it was so sweet, beautiful, personal and funny. Just how a ceremony should be in my eyes.

When you have a reception poolside, you can expect people to jump in… in their clothes. It’s just going to happen. :)

Nicole and Taro decided to put their suits on, too, making for the perfect nighttime, poolside photo shoot. :) LOVED.

A major favorite.

Nicole and Taro – Thank you, thank you for asking me document your day. I’m so happy for you both and wish you so much happiness for your present and future!

Bacara Resort Wedding – Santa Barbara – Michelle & Edward

September 13, 2011

Michelle and Edward had an amazing wedding at the stunning Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara. This is a gorgeous place to have a wedding on any day, but the weather that day made the setting especially perfect. Michelle chose the fabulous Janece of Every Elegant Detail to coordinate the day, and she made sure everything went off flawlessly.

These are my favorite images from the day :)

Michelle is from Singapore and had some cute reminders from home on the big day.

A fun shot of her Jimmy Choos. :)

Cody Floral created some really pretty arrangements for the day. I love the pop pink  bouquet!

Luna Bella Make-Up Art did the perfect soft, natural makeup on Michelle. She looked gorgeous.

The ceremony.

The sweetest moment…

Married!

Michelle & Edward ordered a signing book from their engagement session and I love the way it turned out!

Some of the amazing passed appetizers and the goody boxes guests could fill up with sweets at the end of the night.

Congratulations, Michelle & Edward!
