Every once in a while, I want to do something totally different and new to exercise my creativity and photograph something that has no expectations. When I can do this with other fun, creative people, it’s even more fun for me. These days, I don’t have a ton of extra time on my hands (being a working mom is so much harder than I ever thought!), but it’s important for me to make time for certain things that reinvigorate my love for what I do. This fashion/style shoot with Catherine of The Life Styled was just that – a shoot that totally got me excited about photography all over again.
Catherine is a talented stylist here in LA and we have worked on quite a few shoots together now. A few months back, I mentioned to her that I wanted to do a really unique wintry fashion shoot and to my excitement she was all in! Even after I told her I wanted to do the shoot in a forest which was only accessible via a pretty severe hike. Not only was she game, but we also convinced the lovely Larissa & Alison of Fiore Beauty to make the hike with us!

Jaimi Brooks is the woman behind the fabulous Fiore Beauty, a luxury mobile spa service that offers outstanding beauty services. They have done the makeup and hair for many of my brides, and I have also worked with them on editorial shoots as well including my most recent editorial shoot for California Wedding Day Magazine. Plus, they did my makeup and hair for my wedding, so I’m very partial to their services. Over the years of working together, Jaimi has become a good friend of mine, so I was so happy when she asked me to be the photographer for the feature Glitter Guide would be doing on her fabulous Palm Springs home. It would be a mix of beauty, fashion and interior design- all of which I love to photograph! And a trip to Palm Springs? Count me in!
We had a dream team of people to pull this shoot together- the fashion styling expertise of Catherine of The Life Styled and the interior design expertise of Jessica Marx of J. Marx Atellier. Love working with all these talented, fun women!

A few weeks ago, I did a shoot that was a little new and different for me. My dear friend Jaimi Brooks of Fiore Beauty asked me to photograph her in her beautiful Palm Springs home for a feature on Glitter Guide. Of course I jumped at the chance – not only do I love working with Jaimi (and do so as much as possible), but I knew that Catherine of The Life Styled and Jessica of J. Marx Atellier were going to be involved in the shoot as well. Love all of these women!
I’m so very happy with the images we were able to create as a team and am honored to have them featured! Here are just a couple sneak peeks for now- check out the feature to see many more images of the pretty Jaimi in her gorgeous home. I LOVE the style of it and am definitely taking some inspiration for our own decor.
