Anderson Ranch Wedding – Sonoma – Ashlee & Chad

When I left home for college ten years ago, I don’t remember being afraid or nervous- I was simply excited to start this whole new chapter of my life. Then, after helping me move my stuff into my dorm, my mom and sister left and there I was alone in a dorm room… and it was then that the trepidation arose and I thought for the first time “Whoa. This is happening.” I was one of the first girls to move into our suite so that first night only a few people were around. I hadn’t yet met my roommate or any of my suite mates with whom I’d share a bathroom for the next year- I got a little nervous wondering how we would all get along and if we would actually like each other. Thankfully, I was super lucky to have been placed in a suite with some really awesome ladies, many of whom I still call dear friends to this day. Ashlee was one of those ladies. Anyone who knows Ash would be likely to say that she is the nicest, loveliest, most genuine and caring women on the planet- and that’s no exaggeration. She just has this amazing ability to be nice to everyone, and is always more concerned with how others are feeling than her own feelings. She is kind and compassionate and has a smile that can light up a room, and all who know her are enriched to have her in their lives.

When she asked me to photograph her wedding, I wasn’t only honored, but also a bit nervous for she herself is a great photographer with a knack for travel photography. She and Chad have traveled so much together and she blogs about it all on her amazing personal blog with some really great images that make me one day want to travel to the places she has seen.

You may remember Tracy & Erik from their wedding I shot last year. Tracy also lived in the dorms with us and was Ashlee’s roommate throughout college.
