I shot an AMAZING wedding last weekend and wanted to post a quick preview… Seriously, it was such a great day and I can’t wait to post all of the images and tell you all about how fabulous that whole day was. I left that wedding almost in awe that this is what I get to do for a living…
Also, HAPPY LABOR DAY! I hope you are all enjoying your three-day weekend with some BBQs, cold drinks and maybe even a little beach action. Is anyone as shocked as I am that it’s Labor Day already?? Seriously… where is time going?

Part II of Lizz & Joey’s engagement session brought us to the rooftop bar of Hotel Indigo in downtown San Diego. This hotel is so cute… great interior and a perfect view of Petco Park from the rooftop lounge which is pretty sweet. We had an awesome time shooting up there with some off-camera lighting. (Thanks to Lizz’s friend Christine for holding the flash beautifully!)
I love shooting in natural, beautiful daylight… but I also LOVE experimenting with off-camera lighting. I absolutely loved shooting at night in this amazing urban, chic setting. I am so thankful to Lizz and Joey for being so willing to experiment with me! Love you guys!

We started in the lobby in this really cool foyer area. Love this one!
Then we headed up to the rooftop. This we captured while waiting for the elevator.
Favorite #1! Lizz looks amazingly fierce and there’s just a slight bit of movement that I really like.
Then we sat down around the fire pits they have up there and I just loved this warm light coming up from the fire. Favorite #2!!

This one needs a little introduction. I realize it totally doesn’t fit and is a vast departure from what I usually do…. but I snapped this shot as we were crossing the street after the rooftop session and I had a lot of fun playing with some different color treatments. It’s healthy to experiment with wild and crazy things sometimes… and it keeps me really excited about the work I do.
Lizz & Joey- I had SO much fun with you guys and am so glad we got the chance to hang out! Love!

A couple weekends ago I ventured down to San Diego to shoot a very special engagement session for my great friend Lizz and her new fiance Joey. Lizz and I met living in the dorms at Long Beach State my first year in college. I don’t get to see her as often as I would like these days, so we used the shoot as an excuse to hang out and have a great time together. There are two parts to the engagement session because we pretty much did two shoots that day. We started when it was still light out in casual wardrobe, and then got all fancy and did a really fun night shoot downtown. Here are my favorites from our daytime session… Part II, which is my favorite, will be posted soon.

Joey was really excited to get some shots of them up in the tree. Lizz was a little scared about it, but she was a trooper!
