Erin & Jake: Married! South Coast Winery – Temecula, CA

June 24, 2009

A few weeks ago I shot Erin and Jake’s lovely wedding with Meg. Erin and Meg actually went to high school together up in San Jose, so it was really a lot of fun to be able to work with her. Erin is the sweetest and Jake was great, too… plus they both appreciate photography so much so they made sure to schedule plenty of time for us to roam around the vineyards and do tons of photos. My favorite!

South Coast Winery is beautiful and offered some beautiful hills covered in vines as a backdrop for many of our photos. A special shout-out is in order for Erin’s friend Joe for doing an amazing job making sure the day went smoothly. You did a fabulous job. What a great day!

Every bride has a phone call or two to make the morning of their wedding…

Great details! Each of the tables were named after some of Erin and Jake’s favorite movies. See that “Adventures in Babysitting” sign? Who else loved that movie growing up?? It was a definite favorite of mine… my sister and I must have watched it a thousand times!

The Alibi release …editing! :)
I have a lot of stuff to post and just no time to post it. I will get to it very soon.
Until then, here are some fun shots from the Photobooth I set up at Liz & Steve’s wedding back in May. Meg and I had to do some test shots… you know… to make sure the light was right. ;-)

Cambria & Logan: Married! – The Adamson House – Malibu, CA

June 18, 2009

Cambria and Logan were married at one of my favorite wedding venues here in the Los Angeles area, the Adamson House. There’s just something about this beachside, historic location that I love. I was grateful to be able to shoot this great wedding with Kim Fox and witness the fun-filled day that was a great example of two very loving families coming together.

Here are a few of my favorite images from the day.

Loved this simple bouquet.

And I LOOOOVED Cambria’s dress, especially this detail on the back.

One of my favorite parts of this venue is this great tree that stands tall over the ceremony site. So amazing.

A Break for a Few Words of Wisdom

June 17, 2009

It’s no secret that I love reading blogs. So many people out there have so many interesting things to say and post about…. I visit at least a couple of blogs daily (and usually more) via my handy-dandy Google Reader. Today, I came across a blog post written by a fellow Los Angeles area photographer Jen Berry, who re-posted a great little piece written by Seth Godin. I always love finding inspiring statements- words of wisdom that help me to focus on what really is important in life since it is so easy to get distracted.

From Seth’s blog:

You Matter

  • When you love the work you do and the people you do it with, you matter.
  • When you are so gracious and generous and aware that you think of other people before yourself, you matter.
  • When you leave the world a better place than you found it, you matter.
  • When you continue to raise the bar on what you do and how you do it, you matter.
  • When you teach and forgive and teach more before you rush to judge and demean, you matter.
  • When you touch the people in your life through your actions (and your words), you matter.
  • When kids grow up wanting to be you, you matter.
  • When you see the world as it is, but insist on making it more like it could be, you matter.
  • When you inspire a Nobel prize winner or a slum dweller, you matter.
  • When the room brightens when you walk in, you matter.
  • And when the legacy you leave behind lasts for hours, days or a lifetime, you matter.

This inspired me tonight. What inspires you?
