While I'm editing…

May 27, 2009

I’m in the middle of editing a bunch of shoots right now… some that I am very excited to share here very soon! While I’m spending some quality time with some of my favorite images from recent shoots, I wanted to share a link to a Web site that had become widely popular as of late: http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com

Forever Strong buy

Have you checked out this site?? It’s a good Web stop if you’re browsing around and in the mood to be totally confused and entertained by some of these poses… This one is a favorite.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Wednesday just happens to be my favorite day of the week… this week at least. :)

Ashley & Tim: A Sneak Peek

May 24, 2009

I’ve always heard that patience is a virtue… I know it’s important to be patient, buuuut I’m just not a very patient person. I realize this and am working on it because I know… patience is a virtue. Having said that, I can’t find the patience within me to keep me from posting this Sneak Peek image from the wedding I shot yesterday in Pasadena. There are other images I should blog first so that everything stays in a general chronological order… but, oh well.

I’ll work on being patient tomorrow… did I mention I also struggle with procrastination? ;)

Liz & Steve's Wedding: Bermuda Dunes Country Club – Palm Desert, CA

May 20, 2009

Liz  and Steve are from Seattle and because Steve is a PGA Pro he spends a lot of time in the Palm Springs area. When they decided to get married, they decided to have a destination wedding there at the Bermuda Dunes Country Club — a little vacation for them and their closest family and friends. Having never met them before the day of their wedding, I was very pleasantly surprised with how comfortable I felt around them and all of their guests. Liz is especially delightful. She has a laugh that is simply infectious in the best way and just makes me want to laugh right along with her. You’ll see what I mean…

I was grateful to have Meg along for the drive and for the full day of shooting in the desert heat… and man was it hot! :)

The young groomsmen all rocked these brown Chucks. I loved that!

Liz is one of five sisters… I just had to post this photo because it depicts perfectly their love for one another and how much fun they seem to have together.

Great details organized by her sisters. I just loved the flowers and all of the ribbon details everywhere!

Liz’s smile and laugh were so great, but she also had some great, fierce looks, too. :)

The Next American Idol?

May 20, 2009

.!.

picture-1

For a couple of seasons in the past I was a big fan of American Idol. I had to watch it every week and got really into each competition. However, last season was pretty “blah” and so I wasn’t really even excited for this season. That is until my friend Regis contacted me about getting in on an AI pool. This would make watching the show not only about the singing competition, but also a game I could play with friends and even possibly win some money! Perfect!

Each week we were allotted 100 points to distribute amongst the remaining contestants and were supposed to put points on who we thought would go home that week. Regis was a great organizer and even made very organized spreadsheets of who was leading in points each week! (Thanks, Regis! You’re awesome for being in charge.)

It’s been a really fun competition… mainly because I’ve been in the lead each week since we began! :) Now the pressure is on… it’s the Season Finale tonight and it’s down to two very good contestants: Adam, the elaborate performer, and Kris, the piano-playing, guitar-strumming, All-American boy. I’m not a huge fan of Adam’s… he’s an interesting entertainer, but he’s a little obnoxious to me. Kris is interesting, more humble, and just less annoying than Adam, but I’m not sure he has that special something. I think Adam is known as the favorite, but Kris could easily be the surprise winner!

I’m still not 100% sure how I’ll allocate my points for this evening… but I sure hope I can remain the leader! How awful to lead the whole time and lose at the end?

UPDATE: I knew I should have gone with my gut and put points on who I wanted

to win. But, I ended up putting all my points on Adam because I thought he was going to prevail and I had to keep my lead… Regis, on the other hand, had nothing to lose so he put all of his points on Kris hoping that I would go for Adam and also betting against the odds for a Kris victory. His strategy totally worked and he won the pool! Congrats, Reg! You deserve it for being our pool leader! :)

The Photobooth @ Liz & Steve's Wedding

May 16, 2009

Yesterday I shot Liz & Steve’s wedding out in the Palm Springs area. It was a great day despite the triple-digit temperatures out in the desert. :)

I’ll be posting a bunch of photos in a full blog post in a few days…  Until then, here are some of my favorite images of some of the kids in the Photobooth we set up.
