Last night I visited the Griffith Observatory with my friend Laurel. (Go check out Laurel’s site… she’s an amazing artist.) She hadn’t been since it’s been renovated, and I have never been though I used to live right down the hill from it. So, we decided to make it an evening. Of course I brought my camera along!
I didn’t bring my wide lens with me, so I couldn’t get this entire display in one shot, but this was a really fascinating thing to see. I’m sure I learned it in school at some point in my education, but this display made me realize just how small Earth is compared to other planets in the solar system like Jupiter and Saturn pictured here. It’s incredible that though our world is big, it’s tiny in comparison to what else is out there…
My sister had told me about this display, and it’s actually a really cool thing to see. It’s a Periodic Table that actually has all of the actual elements in it’s own box. There were a lot of people around this exhibit, so I couldn’t get a shot of the entire thing.
Finally, one of the most amazing things about the Observatory is the amazing view you have of the entire city of Los Angeles! The big buildings off to the left are Downtown L.A.
If you live in L.A. or are planning to visit at some point, I highly recommend visiting the Griffith Observatory. It’s a beautiful place and you get to see LA in a way you can’t from any other location.
Happy Friday everyone! <3
